Former Hammer Stephen Bywater could be set for a return to London as it is understood White Hart Lane are interested in the young goalkeeper...
Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is set to replace one England keeper with another. After offloading Paul Robinson to Blackburn Rovers, Ramos is tempted by the prospect of Rams' 27-year shot stopper, Stephen Bywater. The former Hammer is expected to provide competition for recent Brazilian acquisition, Heurelho Gomes, signed from Dutch giants PSV.
Paul Jewell, Derby manager, is quoted by the Derby Evening Telegraph as saying: "Tottenham came in with a bid for Stephen and the player is keen to go. I would like to have kept him but it is a move which appeals to him and we wish him well."
Bywater was never first choice at Pride Park either, the Manchester born glovesman grew accustomed to benchwarming for former Red Devil Roy Carroll.
